Emma Killick visits Harrogate and recommends The Orchid.

Harrogate finally has a restaurant as fabulous as its architecture and bars (oh yeah, and those spas). The Orchid, at 28 Swan Road (in the bottom of the Studley Hotel), is some of the best Asian food I’ve eaten in Britain. It isn’t cheap, but it is worth it.

Everyone who’s been here has their favourite dishes and the amazing thing is that they all seem to be different. Personally, I dream about the Soft Shell Crab and Weeping Tiger and their specials are always truly special. Waiting for a table isn’t a chore either – they have a great wine list and friendly, knowledgeable staff.
