"Holiday Goddess shares some insider tips about Brighton, home of the Mods and the setting for the movie Quadrophenia."

Sleep With Keith Moon

Brighton, home of the Mods and the setting for the movie Quadrophenia (which was loosely based on The Who’s 1973 double album Quadrophenia) has a dedicated Mod room at the Hotel Pelirocco. Featuring an original Keith Moon print and scooter bedside tables, it also has framed stills from the film on the walls and Jam dressing gowns.

It’s the number one boutique hotel in Brighton on Trip Advisor in 2024 with a video review here on YouTube. It’s a rock’n’roll hotel which also nods to Bettie Page.

The Mod Shop

Jump The Gun is Brighton’s number one Mod shop. It’s made and sold menswear for Mods for over two decades. The Tweed overnight bags are for women too.

The Alley in Quadrophenia

The Daily Mail reported that Phil Daniels and Gary Shail had unveiled a blue plaque tribute to Quadrophenia Alley in Brighton in 2023. Daniels played Jimmy in the film and Shail played Spider. The alley is the site of the famous 1979 sex scene with Daniels and Lesley Ash.
