4 Reasons to Pack for Paris, Tout Suite!

Audrey Hepburn was right of course: Paris is always a good idea. Here are 4 of the latest reasons why.

Chocolate Fashion Show

THE PARIS CHOCOLATE FAIR

Every year, thousands of hungry guests flock to the Parc des expositions in Paris to peruse the stands of 220 taste-making exhibitors. Visitors will find chocolatiers, patissiers, confectioners and other artisans from all over the world, from France and Belgium, to Mexico and Brazil. Plenty of activities and events will be on the program at this fair which usually lasts five days; it’s on right now through November 1.  Delicious highlights include the Pastry Show (with cooking demonstrations by top chefs), the Cacao Show, the “chocosphere” (conferences and tastings), workshops for children, and the famous chocolate fashion show starring models wearing dresses made of chocolate.

La Fondation LV

LA FONDATION LOUIS VUITTON

Now one year young, Paris’ bright new superstar  – La Fondation Louis Vuitton – is more than a museum and more than a modern landmark (the latest iconic work by architect Frank Gehry) dramatic enough to lure crowds away from the Eiffel Tour.  The extraordinary space immediately became the city’s new cultural heart, committed to supporting all facets of art (visual, music, dance) from France and around the world. Rising among the century-old trees of the Jardin d’Acclimatation, the dream-like building is stunning, and inside the work is daring and provocative. Now showing until January 4, 2016 is “Accrochage 3: Pop & Music/Sound” featuring bold works by Jean-Michel Basquiat , Marina Abramovic, John Cage, Richard Prince, Andy Warhol and more. http://www.fondationlouisvuitton.fr/en.html
