Delicious, fresh, interesting sushi on a conveyor belt (rare in Melbourne) and minutes from Bourke Street Mall in the heart of the city. That’s Go Go Sushi – easily the best authentic Japanese sushi under $5 a plate in the city. Would you believe Salmon Sashimi, Scallop and even fresh oysters here for $3.50 a plate? Okay – it’s not glamorous. But it’s easy to find, and you can have your lunch or dinner here for $10 and walk out happy. They have a generous tempura and vegetarian menu too.

Go Go Sushi at 212 Swanston St is close to the free city tram circuit going up and down Elizabeth Street, so even if you’re coming in from Flinders Street Station or maybe the Queen Victoria Market end of town – it’s a truly easy find. But don’t just take our word for it. We know of three other travel websites which rave about Go Go Sushi as well…

Over at Zomato they say, ‘The best sushi experience i’ve had since visiting Japan.’ You can see why. The secret of this place is the instant access to the abundant fresh seafood which is just minutes away, via fishing boats, in the city of Melbourne. The rice is always soft and fragrant too. No frozen pellets here!

Oh yes. Go Go Sushi oysters.

Trip Advisor reviewers really love it too. ‘Melbourne doesn’t have a large number of sushi train restaurants (compared to Sydney) and this is curently the most central and easy to access.’ One Yelp reviewer says ‘My favourite dish is the scallop sashimi.’ How do you find Go Go Sushi? Look for Town Hall on Swanston Street and walk a few steps up in the direction of Bourke Street Mall.
