BYO laptop and you can connect to fast broadband at many Sydney libraries and community centres, free of charge. Find  the connection you need at Customs House, Glebe, Newtown, Ultimo, Surry Hills, Haymarket, Kings Cross, Town Hall and Waterloo. Make sure you’ve charged your battery, though – the power points are off limits.

No laptop at all? Surry Hills (near Central Station by train) has available computers downstairs at its Surry Hills Library & Community Centre. And of course, the added advantage of chic street-view tables in the lobby.Not so much a library, more a way of life.
