Welcome to Osaka, Japan.

Japan is a culinary dream, it’s a must visit place for foodies and there’s far more than sushi for you to try. And, if you are a fan of street food - and I certainly am, Osaka is a must visit.  Some people feel dubious about street food but in Japan it’s an experience. A variety of delicious, fresh and exciting dishes are available and it’s all hygienic, if not always cheap!

In Osaka, head to the Dotonbori district which is packed with a variety of places to try. There are noodle dishes, galore, vegetables and fish as well as Japanese delicacies. In Osaka they take their food very seriously. One of the most famous street foods (and my favourite) is Takoyaki – a gooey ball shaped batter filled with octopus, tempura, pickled ginger and spring onion. Topped with a sweet and savoury sauce. In fact, I wish I could eat one right now.
Osaka is a great city to visit, perhaps most famous for its castle, there’s also lots to see and do, but it really is best known for its food and to get the most of out of your visit I would recommend you take a street food tour – there are many available – trust me you won’t regret it.
